Purdue Dismisses Barlow From Program, Suspends Byrd 1 Game
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — Purdue has kicked guard Kelsey Barlow off the men's basketball team and suspended D.J. Byrd for a game following an incident at a bar early Friday.
West Lafayette police say they were called to the bar just before 3 a.m. for a disturbance and both Barlow and Byrd were at the bar at the time. Byrd was arrested by state police and spent five hours in jail.
Purdue did not say why Barlow had been dismissed from the team. Byrd will miss Sunday's home game against No. 7 Michigan State.
