PSU QB's Status Unclear After Suffering Concussion, Seizure In Locker Room Fight
STATE COLLEGE,Pa. (AP) — No. 24 Penn State quarterback Matt McGloin's availability for the TicketCity Bowl on Jan. 2 is in question after the junior suffered a concussion and seizure after a locker-room scuffle with receiver Curtis Drake.
McGloin said Monday the argument Saturday with Drake from the practice field about a missed route carried over to the locker room. McGloin called it a "freak accident" after hitting his head on a concrete floor.
McGloin said he's passed the mental portion of a concussion test, but he's not back to where he should be physically in terms of balance and vision. Interim coach Tom Bradley says doctors must clear McGloin before determining his status for the bowl.
McGloin took responsibility Monday for the scuffle, saying the quarterback should be held to a higher standard.
