Problem At Polls? Here's What You Can Do

CHICAGO (CBS) -- If voters have problems at the polls today, Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan says: Call her office.

"We send our lawyers and investigators in teams to do, essentially, election monitoring," said Attorney General Lisa Madigan, who adds that her office is sending 173 teams out around the state to make sure democracy is working as it should.

A lot of the same issues come up year after year.

"We get a lot of situations where polls don't open on time," she said. "We get people who are told they are not registered to vote, and then there comes questions about whether or not they're allowed to vote provisionally."

Madigan says voters should know that if they're in line by the time the polls close tonight at 7 p.m., they will be allowed to vote.
