Principal Might Be Fired Over Shaming Girls For Short Shorts
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The principal at Chicago's top elementary school might be on her way out.
WBBM Newsradio's Nancy Harty reports Decatur Classical Elementary School's local school council is recommending that CPS remove Principal Susan Kukielka.
The 7-4 vote came a month after some parents expressed outrage over Kukielka's behavior at an assembly on the last day of school. They said she publicly shamed some female students for wearing short shorts.
The council - which had extended the principal's contract before the assembly - says now she has violated parts of that contract, requiring she maintain appropriate discipline, and keep open lines of communication with parents.
WBBM has reached out to CPS for comment.
