Principal Charged With Driving Drunk
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A principal at a suburban academy for kids with behavior disorders was arrested Saturday and charged with aggravated driving under the influence, according to court records.
Michael T. Zajac, 37, of Itasca was also ticketed for speeding, improper lane use, driving without proof of insurance, transporting alcohol and driving with a blood-alcohol content above 0.08 in the 4500 block of Oak Park in Harwood Heights, the Sun-Times reports.
Zajac has two previous DUI arrests, but his license was not suspended at the time of his arrest, a spokesman with the Illinois Secretary of State said. At one point, Zajac had a breathalyzer installed in his car but didn't have it at the time of this DUI.
Zajac is identified in court documents as a principal at Joseph Academy.
The school's director couldn't be reached immediately for comment Sunday.
The school serves children and adolescents with behavioral, emotional and learning disorders, according to its website.
It identifies Zajac as a principal at its Hometown school.
