Price Drops For Bears-Packers Tickets
CHICAGO (CBS) -- If you're looking to go to the big game, there's good news: Ticket prices are falling.
The cheapest seats on StubHub were down to about $300 each Friday afternoon. Just four days earlier, comparable seats were listed at a minimum of $450. On the high side, the front row around the 20-yard line is now $1,700 – compared to more than $2,000 earlier in the week.
Brokers were using phrases like "stop the bleeding" to describe the fading demand for Chicago-Green Bay tickets. Prices have fallen at least 30 percent.
"It hasn't been exactly what we expected, so we have cut our pricing for tickets," Gold Coast Tickets owner Max Waisvisz told CBS 2's Mike Puccinelli.
He's not alone. Steve Buzil of Sit Close Tickets also says his business has taken a hit.
His advice for Bears fans holding tickets, still hoping to cash in: Cash out now.
"There are still a lot of people in the marketplace that are looking to sell their tickets, and they still think they have gold," Buzil says. "They're going to find out there's no gold in those hills right now."
