Preckwinkle Names Panel To Improve County's Energy Efficiency
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle is asking a high-powered panel to help her government become more energy efficient.
As WBBM Newsradio Political Editor Craig Dellimore, Preckwinkle wants the new Sustainability Advisory Council to come up with new and different energy saving programs ways to conserve resources.

"We will focus on several areas, including energy efficiency and sustainability program financing, partnership building, information sharing, and improved sustainability initiatives throughout the company," Preckwinkle said.
The panel will be chaired by Commonwealth Edison president and chief executive officer Ann Pramaggiore, and Chris Kennedy, former head of the Merchandise Mart.
"You want to reassure companies that when they move here, they won't be burdened by environmental problems that have never been dealt with before," Kennedy said. "We want companies to know that when they expand in Cook County, they will find clean water and fresh air."
ComEd has already helped the county identify nearly $2.5 million in energy savings.
