Power Problems Slow North Side 'L' Lines During Morning Rush
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Power problems at two of the CTA's busiest 'L' stops brought delays to three lines at the height of the morning rush Tuesday.
Riders on the Brown, Red and Purple lines were delayed beginning around 8:15 a.m., when problems surfaced with power to the trains, Chicago Transit Authority spokeswoman Kim Myles said.
The problems were reported near the Belmont and Fullerton stops, two of the busiest on the lines. The stops serve the Lakeview and Lincoln Park neighborhoods, respectively, and also serve as major transfer points between the three lines.
While trains kept running and making all stops, delays were reported near Belmont and Fullerton, making for a longer commute for riders, Myles said.
By about 9:15 a.m., the problem had been resolved, and regular service on the three train lines had resumed, Myles said.
