Power outage at U.S. Cellular Field
No one is ready to turn the lights out on the White Sox season just yet. However, the lights were cut off at U.S. Cellular Field today when construction crews hit an electrical line while digging, causing the stadium to lose power.
The doors were blown off the hinges at the small electrical room near 35th Street and Shields Avenue and around 8:30 a.m. this morning and a Level II HazMat response was called, thankfully no one was injured. It is unclear how long the power will be out in U.S. Cellular Field as the Sox start a 10-game road trip today and will return on Sept. 10.
