Post-Resignation Emails To Garry McCarthy Released
(CBS) -- Days after his resignation, former Chicago Police Supt. Garry McCarthy received a flood of support from fellow officers and city officials.
Following a judge's order, the city released emails from McCarthy's inbox.
He stepped down Dec. 1 last year in the wake of the Laquan McDonald controversy but had full access to his account for the rest of the month.
Among the emails was one from Eddie Johnson, who would ultimately replace him as superintendent.
Johnson wrote: "I know things are spinning right now, but I just wanted to drop you a line expressing my gratitude and appreciation for all that you have done for me and taught me along the way."
