Possible Record Warmth To Bring Storms On Wednesday
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Spring-like temperatures across the Chicago area on Wednesday also could bring severe storms.
The unseasonably warm and moist air across northern Illinois and northwest Indiana should bring high temperatures to around 63 degrees, which could break the Dec. 23 record of 62 set in 1982, according to the National Weather Service.
As temperatures rise, thunderstorms should develop later in the morning, and continue on and off through early evening. The storms could produce damaging winds, and might allow for an isolated tornado.
The rest of the week won't be quite as warm, but will still be very mild for December, with highs in the mid to upper 40s through Monday.
While Christmas Eve and Christmas should be dry, rain likely will be factor again Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
