Possible Cougar Sighting In Schaumburg
SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (STMW) -- Police in northwest suburban Schaumburg issued an alert Friday after a motorist reported seeing a large animal resembling a cougar.
The motorist was driving near Roselle and Schaumberg road sabout 8:30 p.m. Thursday when he saw an "earth-tone" animal with a cat-like head and a long tail crossing the road near a residential area, Schaumburg police said in a release.
Police say possible cougar sightings have been reported recently in Highland Park, Northfield and Winetka.
Police are asking area residents to report any other possible sightings of a similar large animal.
