Possible Barricade Situation On Near North Side Ends
CHICAGO (STMW) - A possible hostage-barricade situation on the North Side ended Saturday afternoon after police cleared the home and found no one inside.
Police received the call about the situation in a home in the 1700 block of North Vine Street at about 10:15 a.m., and a SWAT team cleared the home at about 2 p.m., according to police News Affairs Officer Darryl Baety. No one was inside, and there was no indication that a person was held against their will.
As of about 11:30 a.m., some traffic was being rerouted around the area of North Avenue and Larrabee Street.
Police have responded to calls regarding this home before, Baety said.
