Niles Park District Executive Director Joe LoVerde says it's going to take at least a day for the situation to clear up.
"In a perfect world Sunday would be earliest," LoVerde said. "What happens is when the north branch of the river spills onto the golf course, we get sludge and debris. We have to clean that up with manpower, hoses [and] wash it all down back into the river. if Mother Nature cooperates, we could be open ... for Sunday."
LoVerde says the flood will cost the golf course about $30,000 in cleanup and lost fees.
