Pompei: With Packers So Good, Long Road For Bears
(WSCR) In an up-and-down season, the Bears still have a legitimate shot at making the playoffs, likely as a Wild Card team.
Still, the Bears will have to get past the undefeated Packers if they want to reach their ultimate goal -- the Superbowl.
"The one difference between this year and last year, is you have a runaway train up there in Green Bay," Dan Pompei of the Chicago Tribune told The Mully and Hanley Show. "Barring some kind of major collapse by the Packers, the Bears are going to be looking up at Green Bay all season long. You're probably not going to win the division the way it looks right now. You're going to have to go into the playoffs as a Wild Card team. You're going to have to go on the road as a playoff team, assuming they make the playoffs. It's going to be a more difficult path to get to where you want to go. Ultimately, you've still got the Packers standing between you and the Superbowl. That's a tough place to be in, and it's going to be a tough place to be in probably for the foreseeable future because the Packers are so young and so good."
