Pominville Finally Cleared After Hjalmarsson Hit
(WSCR) - Blackhawks defenseman, Niklas Hjalmarsson, was suspended two games for his hit on Jason Pominville on Oct. 11. Today, Pominville was activated after missing nine games with a concussion.
Buffalo Sabres forward Jason Pominville has been cleared to play after missing nine games with a concussion.
Coach Lindy Ruff says Pominville will be back in the lineup on Wednesday, when the Sabres (3-7-2) host Northeast Division rival Boston. Though he began skating with the team last week, Pominville was finally cleared after passing a concussion-related visual test before practice Monday.
The top-line forward has been out since a 4-3 loss to Chicago on Oct. 11, when he was hit partially from behind and sent headfirst into the boards by Blackhawks defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson.
Goalie Ryan Miller missed practice with what Ruff would only describe as a "lower body injury." Ruff expected Miller to practice Tuesday.
