Woman Killed, Man Injured In Garfield Ridge Hit-And-Run
(CBS) -- A woman was killed and a man has been hospitalized following a violent hit-and-run accident on the Southwest Side late Saturday night.
CBS 2's Jeremy Ross reports a person on interest in in custody in connection with the crash.
Police say a 42 year old woman and a 39 year old man were walking across South Archer Avenue at the intersection with South Lavergne Avenue when they were hit by a red jeep. The accident occurred just before 11 p.m.
Both victims were taken to hospitals and the 42-year-old woman would later die from the impact.
Not long after, police were spotted at a different scene by a parked red jeep with obvious front end damage. Investigators would not confirm if it was the vehicle responsible for the accident.
The man who survived the accident is listed in stable condition.
