Police: Woman Beaten, Sexually Assaulted In Roseland Park
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are searching for a man who attacked a woman waiting for a bus, then sexually assaulted her in a nearby park Saturday in the Far South Side Roseland neighborhood.
The woman, 33, was waiting for a bus on the corner of Michigan Avenue and East 95th Street between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. when the man attacked her from behind and dragged her into Abbott Park, according to a community alert issued by Area South detectives. He then beat and sexually assaulted her in the park.
The man is described as a black man between 24 and 33 years old, the alert said. He stands between 5-feet-3 and 5-feet-5 and weighs 160 pounds. He has brown eyes, a medium complexion and a short black Mohawk.
At the time of the attack, he was wearing a black, long-sleeved shirt and dark blue jeans, according to the alert.
