Police: Waukegan Man Tried To Meet Teen Boy For Sex
(STMW) -- A Waukegan man has been charged with trying to meet a teenage boy for sexual acts.
Erick J. Arroyo-Acosta, 19, contacted someone he thought was a 14-year-old boy on a mobile social networking application, according to a statement from the Lake County sheriff's office. About 6 p.m. Friday, he requested to meet the "boy" to engage in sexual acts.
The "boy" was actually a detective with the Lake County sheriff's Cybercrimes Unit, and Arroyo-Acosta, of the 200 block of Julian Street in Waukegan, was arrested and charged with two counts of traveling to meet a minor, a Class 3 felony, and a misdemeanor count of unlawful possession of alcohol, the sheriff's office said.
He is being held at the Lake County Jail on a $25,000 bond and is expected to appear in court Tuesday afternoon, according to the sheriff's office.
