Police Warn Woodlawn Residents About Recent Gunpoint Robberies
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are warning residents in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood about two recent robberies.
Both robberies happened in July from 63rd and 65th streets between Ellis and Greenwood avenues, according to a community alert issued by Area Central detectives.
The suspects travel in groups and hold victims up at gunpoint with a blue or black pistol, police said.
They are described as black men, 5-foot-2 to 5-foot-7 and 140 to 155 pounds, police said. One has a mohawk hairstyle and the other dreadlocks.
Police are asking residents to report any suspicious activity, and share any information on these robberies with Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8380.
