Police Warn Residents About Orange Line Robberies
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are warning residents about a pair of robberies near CTA Orange Line stations on the Southwest Side over the past week.
The robberies occurred in the 4900 block of South Kedzie Avenue at 10:57 a.m. Oct. 12 and in the 4900 block of South Western Avenue at 9:57 a.m. Oct. 16, according to a release issued by Area Central detectives.
In the robberies, the suspect approached female victims on or near CTA trains and took their purses by physical force, police said.
The suspect is described as a 160-pound, 5-foot-10 to 6-foot-1 black male between 16 and 21 years old, police said.
