Police Warn Of Lincoln Park Auto Burglaries
CHICAGO (STMW) - Police are warning motorists who park near Lincoln Park Zoo of a spate of recent burglaries to cars parked there.
These incidents, which have occurred in March, have taken place from 2200 to 2400 North Cannon Drive in Lincoln Park, which runs along the zoo, according to an alert from Area Central detectives.
The offender or offenders are able to get into the vehicles usually by opening an unlocked door, the alert said. The offender will also go into the trunk of the vehicle, as they make off with personal property from the vehicle.
Police advise auto owners who park in that area not to leave any personal property sitting in plain view inside the vehicle, to keep all vehicle doors and windows locked, and to call 911 to report any suspicious person(s), vehicles(s), or activity near their vehicles.
If anyone has information about these incidents they are asked to call Area Central Detectives, at (312) 747-8384.
