Police Warn Of Bronzeville Car Break-Ins
CHICAGO (STMW) - Police are warning residents of the South Side Bronzeville neighborhood to be careful after a recent surge of car burglaries.
Police issued a community alert on Wednesday to remind those who live near the 400 block of East Bowen Avenue to make sure their personal property is secured because of recent break-ins to cars reported in June, the alert from Wentworth Area detectives said.
Residents are reminded to park at well lit locations; be conscious of any suspicious people loitering and to completely secure their parked vehicle.
They're also advised to not leave any visible items such as cell phones, lap top computers, MP3 players or portable GPS units or purses, backpacks and garments in the interior of a parked and unattended car.
Anyone with information about the break-ins is asked to call detectives at (312) 747-8382.
