Police Warn Of Armed Robberies On North Side
CHICAGO (STMW) - Chicago Police are alerting small businesses on the North Side of a series of armed robberies that have taken place there recently.
According to an alert from Belmont Area detectives, the robberies have taken place at small businesses during the late evening and into the early morning hours. The offenders, after entering each business, approach the on-duty employee, display a dark-colored handgun and demand cash from the register.
Once they get the money the two men flee on foot.
The two are described as black males, each with brown eyes and short black hair, the alert said. One is between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot-1 weighing between 185 and 220 pounds, and the other is between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-9, and between 140 and 160 pounds.
Anyone who can identify the two or who has information on the robberies, is asked to call detectives at (312) 744-8263.
