Police Warn Of 16-Year-Old Girls Robbing Other Teens Of Jewelry
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police say a pair of girls only 16 years old are on a mission to grab jewelry from unsuspecting victims on the city's Southwest Side.
A community alert has been issued for the robberies, the first of which happened around 3:20 p.m. May 27 in the 5800 block of South Troy Street. A 15-year-old girl was approached by the two suspects, who grabbed her necklace from her, police said.
In the second robbery, which happened in the 5500 block of South Mozart Street, a 15-year-old girl was robbed of a gold chain and a gold heart ring, police said.
Neither victim was injured in the robberies.
The suspects are described as two Hispanic girls, both 16 years old. One is between 4 feet 8 to 5 feet 2 inches tall and between 100 to 115 pounds. The other is between 5 feet 3 to 5 feet 6 inches tall and 115 to 150 pounds.
