Police Warn About Recent Robberies In Lakeview And Lincoln Park
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A string of robberies within a matter of days in the Lakeview and Lincoln neighborhoods has police issuing a warning to the community.
In each robbery, one or more suspects approached a person on the street, pulled out a gun, and demanded their belongings.
The crimes happened over a five-day stretch from May 16 to May 20, all late at night:
• In the 1200 block of West Waveland at 9:30 p.m. May 16;
• In the 1300 block of West Henderson at 9:40 p.m. May 16;
• In the 1200 block of West Oakdale at 11:30 p.m. May 19;
• In the 2900 block of North Sheffield at 11:40 p.m. May 20;
• And in the 2400 block of North Seminary at 11:55 p.m. May 20.
Investigators had only a vague description of one of the suspects.
Police advised people in the neighborhood to be extra cautious and aware of their surroundings.
