Police: Two Credible Leads In Doctor's Disappearance
MUNSTER, Ind. (WBBM) -- Police in northwest Indiana say they are pursuing two credible leads in the disappearance six of a 70-year-old ophthalmologist six months ago.
It has been almost two weeks since Munster police publicly named 38-year-old Paresh Paul a "person of interest" in the disappearance of his mother, Dr. Promila Mehta Paul.
And since then, Munster Police Chief Stephen Scheckel says a few tips have come in, especially two promising ones.
"We're fairly optimistic with these leads. They're leads that lead us to individuals that we are trying to find now that may have been with our person of interest, Mr. Paul, around the time of his mother's disappearance."

Chief Scheckel says Paresh Paul has been a recluse - living in the home where his mother lived.
Scheckel says Paresh Paul left the Munster area and went west - and into Mexico - about the time his mother disappeared last March.
The mother is presumed dead, Scheckel says, and neither her body nor her car has been found - but he says police believe the car may have been abandoned in Mexico.
