Police: Suspect Fired Gun During Waukegan Liquor Store Robbery
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are asking the public for information after a robbery suspect fired a handgun inside a liquor store during a hold-up Sunday night in north suburban Waukegan.
The clerk at Big Daddy's Liquors, 2811 Grand Avenue in Waukegan, was closing up at 10:20 p.m. when the robber entered the store armed with a handgun, according to a statement from Waukegan police. He demanded money and fired one round during the robbery, striking a cooler in the store.
The robber then ran away on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. The clerk was not injured.
The suspect is described as a 5-foot-10 black male with a medium build, according to police. He was wearing a yellow cloth around his face. He is considered armed and dangerous.
