Police: Student, 14, Brought Gun To School In Calumet City
CALUMET CITY, Ill. (CBS) -- A 14-year-old pupil could be in big trouble after bringing a loaded handgun to school in Calumet City.
Calumet City Assistant Police Chief Dan Zorzie told CBS 2 the teen brought the gun to the Dirsken Middle School, at 1650 Pulaski Rd. in the south suburb.
Around 3 p.m., students told their teachers about seeing another student showing off a pistol, Zorzi said. Security officers were as alerted, and they found the pistol in a case, he said.
The 14-year-old who brought the gun to school is from Calumet City. It has not been learned what kind of consequences the teen will face.
Teachers at the school were reportedly meeting Tuesday morning about the incident.
