Police: Sexual Assault Of Child Taped To Make Child Porn
BEACH PARK, Ill. (STMW) -- A north suburban man has been charged with sexually assaulting a child and taping the attack to make child pornography, and authorities believe there may be more victims.
Kevin M. Stirnichuk, 53, of Beach Park, was arrested Sept. 25 and charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, child pornography and aggravated sexual assault, according to a statement from the Lake County Sheriff's office.
Authorities were tipped off by a relative of a victim that Stirnichuk had videos on his computer of him "engaging in inappropriate sexual contact" with the child, police said.
Stirnichuk's bond was set at $500,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court next on Oct. 21 in Waukegan, police said.
The child was younger than 13 at the time of the attack, and authorities believe there may more victims, police said.
