Police Seek Suspect In SE Side Abduction Attempts
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are warning Hegewisch neighborhood residents to be on the lookout for a man who attacked a woman in her home twice in the last month.
The first attack happened Sept. 27 about 8:30 a.m. in the 13500 block of South Buffalo Avenue, when the man tried to abduct the 18-year-old woman and held some sort of object against her throat, according to an alert issued by Calumet Area detectives.
He fled in a white Cadillac sedan after the woman sprayed him with mace, according to the alert.
About a week later, the same man knocked on the woman's door, reached inside and cut her arm with some type of sharp instrument, the alert said. The woman against sprayed him with mace and he fled.
The suspect is described as a 20- to 25-year-old Hispanic man, about 5-foot-8 and 170 pounds, driving a white, box-type 4-door Cadillac sedan, according to the alert.
Police are warning residents to report suspicious people or activity and not to let children walk alone, according to the alert.
