Police Seek Suspect In Attempted Oak Lawn Child Abduction
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police are seeking help in locating a man who allegedly attempted to abduct a teenage girl in Oak Lawn on Tuesday.
A 14-year-old Chicago girl called 911, reporting that she was being followed by a black male as she walked southbound on Pulaski Road, near the Jewel food store at the corner at 95th Street.
Oak Lawn and Evergreen Park police arrived within a minute of the call and the girl told them a man--with short hair, mustache and yellow t-shirt--kept asking the girl to get in his van. The vehicle was described as maroon in color and possibly a Ford Windstar.
The girl said the suspect looked her up and down and said, 'damn!" He continued to drive around and drive past the girl, police said.
The incident happened around 2:24 p.m. on Tuesday, police said.
The search of the area did not turn up the suspect, and the girl was not injured.
