Body Of Missing Chicago Man Found In Woods
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The body of a Chicago man, missing since Friday, has been found in a wooded area in Lyons.
Earlier, Chicago police had put out a missing persons alert as family and friends returned to a west suburban woods this afternoon to search for any signs of Edward Naklicki.
The 59-year old electrical contractor had been missing since Friday morning. He was last seen by his wife, Barbara, in their home on 52nd Street and Neva in Chicago.
His white van was found Monday in the Ottawa Trails Woods at 47th and Harlem in Lyons. That's where family and friends again today were searching for any sign of him.
The body was discovered on Wednesday afternoon by searchers around 2:10 p.m, north of the parking lot where the van was found. The cause of his death was not known, but there was no sign of foul play, said Lyons Police Chief Richard Waszak.
The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy.
Son-in-law Andre Lopez said his father-in-law is a happy-go-lucky sort and would never hurt himself.
"We were totally expecting a different outcome," said Lopez, who identified the body. "This is very tough."
Naklicki's lunch was found by police uneaten inside the white van.
