Police Search For Tuskegee Airman's Stolen Medal
GARY, Ind. (CBS) -- Gary, Ind., police are trying to find a Congressional medal that was stolen from a Tuskegee Airman's home.
As WBBM Newsradio's Nancy Harty reports, Quentin Smith, 93, was embarrassed to admit that his Congressional Gold Metal medal had been stolen from his Gary home last summer. So he waited until this week to report it.

Police say the medal was taken with jewelry and other items while Smith was away.
Smith received his medal five years ago for his service as a flight instructor for the Tuskegee Airman – the all-African-American squadron that did missions for the U.S. Army during World War II.
Anyone with information about the burglary or the medal is asked to call Gary police Sgt. Freddie Cook at (219) 881-1220 or the department's anonymous tip hot line at (866) 274-6347.
