Police Search For South Loop Shoe Store Robber
CHICAGO (CBS) - Police are looking for the thief who robbed the busy DSW Show Warehouse in the South Loop over the weekend.
At 10:10 a.m. Sunday, a man approached the register inside the DSW Shoe Warehouse, 1101 S. Canal St., and displayed a gun, according to Central District police Lt. Robert Lajewski. There were just a few people inside, as the store had just opened.
The suspect showed a gun, reached over the cash register and grabbed $150 before fleeing on foot, police said.
Surveillance video shows an African-American male suspect, who is described as 6 feet tall and weighing 180 pounds.
He was last seen wearing a skull cap under a black hooded windbreaker with a dark purple or red stripe near the shoulder area, and its hood up, Central District police Lt. Robert Lajewski.
He also was wearing sunglasses, blue jeans and white gym shoes, possibly with a blue stripe on them, according to the lieutenant.
