Police Search For Man Who Tried To Kidnap Girl, 8, In Little Village
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago Police are looking for a man who attempted to kidnap a young girl Wednesday evening in the Little Village neighborhood.
As WBBM Newsradio's Bernie Tafoya reports, police say the man followed the 8-year-old girl into the alley behind the 3500 block of West 27th Street around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
A police community alert says the man grabbed the girl's arm and tried to drag her into a garage. But the girl broke free and ran away.
The man is described as Hispanic and between 30 and 35, standing 5 feet 5 to 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 130 to 150 pounds. He had an olive complexion and a mustache, police said.
Police say the man was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and had a generally dirty appearance.
Police advise neighbors to be aware of their surroundings and report anyone or anything suspicious.
