Police Search For Man Who Fondled Girl On NW Side
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are searching for a man ran off after fondling a 6-year-old girl at a Northwest Side Albany Park store Monday afternoon.
The girl was at Village Discount Outlet Store, 4635 N. Elston Ave., when a man approached her and fondled her genital area with his hand about 3:15 p.m., according to an alert from Chicago Police.
The girl screamed and told her father, who chased the suspect from the store across Elston Avenue, southbound on Kildare Avenue and into an alley of Elston Avenue, the alert said.
The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic man, 30-40 years old, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, 165 to 180 pounds with short dark hair. He was wearing a black and red baseball cap, possibly with a Chicago Blackhawks or Cleveland Indians logo. He also wore a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark-blue colored pants.
Police advise parents to report any suspicious people or vehicles in the neighborhood and not to let children walk off alone.
