Police Search For Gunman Who Shot Boy, 13
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police are looking for a gunman who shot and wounded a 13-year-old boy last month in the South Side's Brainerd neighborhood.
The boy was walking east on 91st Street from Ada Street when he was shot in the head around 9 a.m. July 12, police said. Earlier reports indicated that he was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition at the time; updates were not available Wednesday afternoon.
The suspected gunman was seen running down the sidewalk in a surveillance image. He ran from 91st Street from Ada Street to Marshfield Avenue a few blocks to the west, police said.
The gunman is described as an African-American male between the ages of 25 and 30, standing 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall, with a medium to heavy build and a dark complexion. He was last seen a black baseball cap, a burgundy T-shirt with white text and a white insignia on the back of the right shoulder, black basketball shorts with a white stripe on each side, and white gym shoes, police said.
The gunman also walked with a limp, police said.

Also, neighbors are asked to be aware of the incident and call 911 to identify suspicious people, vehicles and activities. Children should not walk alone, and safe havens such as businesses or trusted neighbors should be identified along the route children use to walk to school, police say.
