Police Search For Attempted Kidnapper In Ravenswood
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are searching for a man who tried to lure two girls to his vehicle in the Northwest Side Ravenswood neighborhood.
The man pulled the vehicle he was driving near where two girls aged nine and 16 were standing on the sidewalk in the 4600 block of North Wolcott Avenue at 3:15 p.m. on Aug. 16, according to a community alert from Belmont Area detectives.
He motioned with his hand for the girls to come closer to the vehicle and the girls fled and hid nearby, the alert said. The girls saw the man exit his vehicle briefly and then drive away slowly.
The man is described as white, between 30-40 years of age, five-foot-six to five-foot-eight, with blue eyes and bleached blonde slicked back greasy long hair, the alert said. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.
He was driving an older model white two-door vehicle with rust near the right rear wheel, the alert said.
Anyone with information should contact Belmont Area detectives at (312) 744-8200.
