Police Respond To Standoff In South Loop
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A barricade situation ended peacefully Tuesday afternoon in the South Loop where a distraught, off-duty suburban police officer refused to exit his vehicle.
Police responded at 1:18 p.m. to the 1100 block of South Wells Street and found an off-duty Plainfield police officer distraught for personal reasons in his vehicle, Chicago Police said.
Streets in the area were closed to traffic and police negotiated with the officer.
The incident ended peacefully about 3:30 p.m. and all roads are now reopened.
