Police: One Dead, One Wounded In Shooting

CHICAGO (CBS) - One man is dead and another wounded after a shooting on the city's South Side.
The shooting happened around 9:15 p.m. Monday in the 1200 block of West 74th Street. Police say two men were sitting in a van outside on the street when a gunman approached and shot both of them.
A 23-year-old man was shot in the abdomen and died a short time later. He was identified as Jeffery Selmon, and he lived half a block away the 1200 block of West 74th Place, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
The second man was taken in good condition to Saint Bernard Hospital with a gunshot wound to the hip.
No suspects are in custody as of Tuesday morning. Calumet Area detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
