CHICAGO (STMW) - A police officer was hit by a motorcycle late Friday, causing a police chase that ended without capturing the suspect, according to police.
The female officer, whose age is unknown, was hit by the motorcycle in the 700 block of East Solidarity Drive at about 10:30 p.m., according to police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.
She was taken to Northwestern Memorial in "stable" condition with no life-threatening injuries, Greer said.
Police across the city pursued the motorcyclist, who was riding a red motorcycle and wearing a white helmet, according to unconfirmed dispatch reports. He drove west out of the city, and the chase involved Illinois State Police.
