Police: Man Tried To Kidnap Woman Walking On NW Side
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are looking for a man who tried to kidnap a woman walking in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood last week on the Northwest Side.
The man ran up to a 19-year-old woman walking in the 2700 block of North Lamon Avenue, grabbed her arm and pulled her towards an alley about 7:40 a.m. June 28, according to a community alert from Area North detectives.
When the woman refused, the man hit her in the face and body, police said. The woman screamed and fought off the man, who ran away.
The attacker is described as a 20- to 25-year-old Hispanic man with a slim build, medium complexion, slight facial hair and a faint accent, police said. He was last seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt, long gray basketball shorts with a white stripe and white gym shoes.
