Police: Man Stabs Himself During Fight With Girlfriend
RIVERSIDE, Ill. (STMW) - A west suburban man who stabbed himself during a drunken fight with his girlfriend Wednesday is also facing domestic battery charges.
Riverside police responded Wednesday morning to a 911 call from a woman who said her boyfriend had stabbed himself at their apartment In the 2800 block of South Harlem Avenue in Riverside, according to police.
Police arrived to find that the pair, both highly intoxicated, been arguing for some time, a fight that ended with the man stabbing himself, a release from police said.
He was taken to MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, where he was found to have a minor injury consistent with a self-inflicted knife wound, the release said.
The woman was found to have bruising injuries to her arms and torn clothing from the altercation, the release said. She was interviewed and the couple's 3-year-old child was placed in the custody of the maternal grandfather.
Richard W. Pascua, 52, of Riverside, was charged with domestic battery, police said. Court information was not immediately available.
