Police: Man Pressured Juvenile To Send Explict Photos
(STMW) -- A northwest suburban man was charged Thursday with exchanging explicit pictures with a juvenile he met on a social media website.
Douglas J. Carlson, 43, of the 4400 block of Beech Street in Island Lake, was charged with felony counts of intimidation and harmful material, according to the McHenry County Sheriff's office. He was ordered held on a $30,000 bond.
Carlson contacted the juvenile through a social networking site in August and started sending numerous explicit photos of himself, a release from the sheriff's office said.
During numerous online interactions, he convinced the juvenile to send him explicit photos, which he then threatened to post online unless the juvenile sent more, according to the release.
Sheriff's police obtained a warrant Wednesday and took Carlson into custody Thursday without incident, police said.
