Police: Man Found Shot Dead In Snow Bank

CHICAGO (STMW) - A 24-year-old man who was found dead in the snow Friday evening on the South Side died of a gunshot wound to the chest, an autopsy revealed.
At 6:30 p.m., police responded to a call of a person down in the 500 block of East 79th Street, police News Affairs Officer Anne Dwyer said.
A 24-year-old man was found unresponsive in a snow bank and was pronounced dead on the scene, according to police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said.
An autopsy on Saturday found that the man suffered a gunshot to the chest and his death was a homicide, according to a spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. The man's identity was unknown, according to the medical examiner's office.
Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
