Police Kill Dog, Wound Suspect In Drug Raid
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police shot and killed a dog, and wounded a suspect, during a drug raid in the Mount Greenwood neighborhood.
The Sun-Times Media Wire reported the narcotics officers were executing a search warrant in a home in near 103rd Street and Trumbull Avenue around 3:25 p.m. Thursday.
A man inside opened the door to a room, and the dog ran out and charged the officers, police said. The officers fired their weapons and killed the dog.
They also grazed the suspect inside. The Sun-Times Media Wire reports he suffered a graze wound to his legs and was taken to an area hospital under police guard.
The Independent Police Review Authority is investigating the circumstances of the shooting.
