Police Issue Sketch Of Suspect Who Tried To Lure Boy With Xbox
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police are asking for the public's help in finding a man who allegedly tried to lure a boy into his car by offering to play video games with him.
Police issued a sketch of the man who tried to convince an 11-year-old to get into his car on the Northwest Side and go play Xbox.
The incident happened on Jan. 31 about 9 a.m. in the 7400 block of West School Street, Grand Central Area detectives said. The man called the boy to his car and then told him to get in.
When the child refused, the man got out of his car and chased the boy. He ran home and the man ran back to his car and drove away, police said in a news release.
The man is described as white or Hispanic with a medium complexion. He was between 30 and 40, 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-10 and 150-170 pounds.
He had black and gray hair; a full, closely trimmed black beard; thick eyebrows that the victim described as being a "uni-brow" and large lips, the alert said.
He was wearing a black t-shirt with red lettering, worn over a white long-sleeved shirt and baggy black pants, the alert said.
He was driving a small to mid-sized purple two-door car with tinted windows.
Anyone with information should call detectives at (312) 746-8365.
