Police Issue Sketch Of Downers Grove Robbery Suspect
DOWNERS GROVE (CBS) -- Police are looking for an armed suspect who attempted to rob someone in west suburban Downers Grove Tuesday morning.
The attempted armed robbery occurred near Saratoga Avenue and Franklin Street about 8:24 a.m., according to a statement from Downers Grove police.
Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic man in his teens or early 20s, between 5-foot-6 and 6-feet, skinny in stature with facial hair on his chin.
He was last seen running from the scene wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, dark jogging pants and white gym shoes, police said.
Nearby schools were placed on lockdown for about an hour following the attempted robbery, police said.
No one was injured during the incident, police said.
Anyone with information regarding the robbery is asked to call 911.
