Man With Gun Shot By Cops On West Side
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago police officers shot and wounded a man armed with a gun Tuesday afternoon in the South Austin neighborhood.
A police spokesperson confirmed that there was a police-involved shooting on the 5600 block of West Augusta Boulevard at about 1:15 p.m.
Austin District police officers were conducting a drug investigation near Augusta and Parkside Avenue when they saw a man with a gun, police said. At least one officer shot the suspect.

According to the fire department, the 20-year-old man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, but the injury is not considered life-threatening.
Police said that, according to preliminary reports, no officers were hurt in the incident.
Further details were not immediately available.
The Independent Police Review Authority, which investigates all police-involved shootings, and Grand Central Area detectives are investigating.
